Invited to the program La Vie, la Mer, launched by the Cluster Maritime Français, Jacques Rougerie took part in a discussion on the key challenges shaping today’s maritime economy.
Alongside Nathalie Mercier-Perrin, President of the Cluster Maritime Français, Patrice Bégay, and Alain Blanchard, Secretary General of the National Association of Coastal Elected Officials, he shared his vision of a sustainable blue economy, closely linked to the major challenges of coastal dynamics and shoreline erosion.
On this occasion, Jacques Rougerie emphasized the need to reconcile ecosystem preservation with economic development, placing respect for living systems at the core of planning and innovation strategies.
He also presented the work of the Jacques Rougerie Foundation – Académie des beaux-arts, highlighting several projects developed through the Lab Prizes of the International Architecture and Innovation Competition. These initiatives demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the maritime sector.
This exchange once again illustrates the Foundation’s role in supporting concrete solutions to imagine and build the living environments of tomorrow, at the intersection of arts, sciences, technologies, and nature.
